​International Society of Differentiation - Sessions/Symposia Organization Award

Activities to be supported include organization of a symposium in an international scientific meeting related to cell and developmental biology (not organized by ISD), and organization of a session in international practical courses / workshops

Eligibility

• Must be a Member of ISD
• Must Support the Activities of:
• Organization of a Symposium in an International Scientific Meeting related to cell and developmental biology (not organized by ISD).
• Organization of a session in International Practical Courses / Workshops

Call for Applications

A call for application in April and October will be posted on:

• Regular emails to society members
• The ISD website with a description of the Award and an electronic application form
  
• The website and printed issues of the ISD official Journal, Differentiation

Submission Guidelines

• Applications will be considered twice per year, with closing date at the end of June and December, for activities taking place within the following 12 months.
• Applications are submitted on-line to the Business Office of the Society, and include a Biosketch of the applicant, the full programme and organization details of the Scientific Meeting or Practical Course, the Program of the session/symposium.
• The committee will assess the application based on (a) Program of the Scientific meeting, (b) proposed Program for the symposia, (c) CV of the proposer

Conditions of the Award

• The award will cover the cost of travel up to a maximum of USD10000 per conference / workshop / course. The amount awarded will be determined by the committee based on evaluation.
• Within a set period (suggestion: 3 months) after the event, the awardee for session/symposium organization, will provide a copy of the final program to be posted on the Society website and a report of the activities funded.
• Awardees are encouraged to display the ISD logo on a PowerPoint slide presenting the Symposium/session to acknowledge the support of ISD and to enhance the visibility of the Society. The ISD should also be acknowledged as sponsor of the meeting/workshop and the logo included in the program.

​International Society of Differentiation - Researcher Travel Award

Eligibility​

• Eligible for Student Members or Ordinary Members in post-doctoral positions or when justified by a specific need when changing field or acquiring new expertise, mid-career or intermediate stage (PI) could also be eligible.
• Must Support the Activities of:
• Attendance as a presenter of research work in scientific forum related to cell and developmental biology
• Attendance at a workshop or training course relevant to research discipline or career development of the applicant
• Exchange visit to research institutions to acquire research skills and/or to foster collaboration
• Does not include travel to the biennial ISD conferences

Call for Applications

A call for applications will be made twice annually by:

• Regular emails to society members
• The ISD website with a description of the Award and an electronic application form
• The website and printed issues of the ISD official Journal, Differentiation

Submission Guidelines

• Applications will be considered twice per year for activity taking place within the following 6 months.
• Applications are submitted on-line to the Business Office of the Society, accompanied​ by a current curriculum vitae, justification for the activity. Supporting documents include a letter of support from supervisors if appropriate, and, if for an exchange visit, the host of the applicant, and details of provisional itinerary and costs.
• The committee consisting of the chief editor and the secretary/treasurer of ISD and three members for a two year term) will assess the applications based on (a) perceived need – 50%, (b) applicant’s career record – 25% and (c) supervisor / host reference – 25% and present a recommendation to the ISD Executive Board.

Conditions of the Award

• The award will cover the cost of travel up to USD1500 for conference / workshop / course attendance, with an additional allocation up to USD500 for incidental expenses for an exchange visit.
  [Note: the tentative budget will support up to 6 conference travel or 5 exchange visits or a combination of two types of awards]
• Within a set period (suggestion: 6 months) after the event, the awardee for conference attendance, will provide a copy of the abstract of presentation to be posted on the Society website, or if the award is for an exchange visit, a report of the activity for posting on the ISD website.
• Awardees who are presenting their work in conference or the host institute of the visit are encouraged to display an ISD logo on their PowerPoint slides, poster and other presentations to acknowledge the support of ISD and to enhance the visibility of the Society. As appropriate, ISD support should be acknowledged in publications.
